Our work
We deliver our vision by:
- Developing and maintaining the 360Giving Data Standard so it remains fit for purpose. We consult with Publishers and users of the data to identify ways the Standard can be developed. We also support funder groups to develop complementary standards, such as the DEI Data Standard which is used by funders to monitor the equity of their grantmaking. DEI Data Standard data can be published with 360Giving data.
- Supporting funders to publish their grants data using the 360Giving Data Standard. This is crucial, as all of our work depends on the availability of data. This includes guidance, templates, workshops, 1-1 support, and tools to check data quality.
- Providing free-to-use, open source tools which allow people to access and use 360Giving data. These include GrantNav and GrantVis, our search engine and connected visualisation tool for grants data. We also have a Datastore and API to access the data in bulk for analysts and in systems.
- Supporting people to use the data. We regularly deliver workshops, and offer in-house training for individual grantmakers or funder groups to help people get the most from the data available. We provide bespoke guidance for those who need more specific help – through free 1-1 support from our Publisher Helpdesk and our in-house data analysts.
- Carrying out data analysis and research. We help people to make sense of the data by providing analysis and reports that offer deeper insights, identify trends, and put grants data in context. This can be for individual funders, groups of funders such as some of our 360Insight reports, or across the sector as a whole such as UKGrantmaking.
