Enhance your data

We can make your data work harder by enhancing it with relevant information from other sources to give you a clearer picture of your community – be they applicants, grantees, or funders.

Cost: Tailored to your needs and budget

For: Funder groups and networks, Grantmakers, Researchers and policymakers

How can we enhance your data?

We can combine your data with information from other sources such as charity regulators, 360Giving data, or statistical data to provide a clearer picture of your community and context. This could include providing a profile of organisations by size, income, expenditure, geographic scope (whether local, regional, national, or international), or linking your location data to indices of multiple deprivation data and other geo-demographic profiling. We will provide you with spreadsheets of enhanced data and summary charts that will put your data in a new context, helping to inform your strategy and engagement with partners.

In practice examples

Support for a funder membership organisation

360Giving supported a membership organisation to get additional information about their members to help them demonstrate their collective impact and develop internal segmentation. We were provided with a list of members and used a combination of data from charity regulators and 360Giving, where available, to provide key information on each member. This included their total grantmaking in the financial year, income, expenditure, endowment value, number of employees, scope of operation (whether a local, regional, national or international funder), and registration location. We provided summary charts to give a profile of membership alongside a spreadsheet of the full enhanced data on their members. They were then able to use this information to identify organisations with particular characteristics, and to design more tailored support and communications.

Support for an individual funder

A funder wanted to better understand the profile of its applicants and grantees and if there were any differences between them. They provided a spreadsheet of the data they had about these organisations and we filled in the gaps: for example, providing the turnover in the two most recent financial years, the number of employees, scope of operation (whether a local, regional or international charity), charity regulator categories for the charitable objects, communities supported, themes of work etc. We also provided details of the grants these organisations had received from other funders who had published data using the 360Giving Data Standard. This enhanced data allowed the funder to carry out their own analysis to inform their process review and strategy.
